Connecting Your Professional Instagram Account to Perlu

What is a Professional Instagram Account?

A professional Instagram account is a delineation that simply states that your account is being used as a business or a creative. There are no prerequisites for having a professional account (you don’t need to be registered with the better business bureau or even have an address/phone number listed) besides connecting it to a Facebook page, but it does allow you to take advantage of some key new features on both Instagram and Perlu.

• Benefits on Perlu
• Connecting a professional Instagram account to Perlu will allow the system to populate your “highlights” section with your Instagram posts and update your follow count.
• The most active brands that you've mentioned will appear on your profile and you may appear on theirs.
• Influencers and Brands viewing your profile for potential partnerships will now be able to stay right within Perlu to see all of your great content.
  
• Analytics from your Instagram account will be available, including engagement rates and like & comment counts.

Change From Personal Instagram Account To Professional

• Navigate to the settings of your Instagram profile.
• Select Account
• Select “Switch to Professional Account”
• Choose Creator or Business
• Follow the steps on your screen to change to a professional account.
• Here are the detailed instructions directly from Instagram. 
• Note: In order to create/switch to a professional profile, you must connect a Facebook page. If you do not have a Facebook page, this process will create one for you. 

How To Connect Your Professional Instagram Account to Perlu

• If you already have a connected Personal Instagram Account you must first remove that account from your social accounts list.
• Go to “Edit Profile”
• Click “Connect Social Accounts”
• Click the X on the Instagram Account
• Follow the instructions below
  Instagram has recently updated their API used to connect accounts to other apps. If you notice your Perlu profile says that your Instagram is not professional, you may have connected it through the old API. No worries, just remove it and reattach the same way described above!

• Click “Connect Social Accounts”
• Click “Connect Instagram Account”
• Authorize Perlu's access to Instagram through the Facebook modal
• Choose which account(s) you'd like to connect to Perlu
